Approved by:
We are committed to conducting operations in
a safe and environmentally sound manner, which always complies with not only our safety standards but those set forth by our governing bodies, as well as our clients. Since 2008 we
have maintained a 0.0 total recordable incident frequency (T.R.I.F). This is a monumental achievement that we are very proud of and is irrefutable proof of our safety culture at Alberta Heavy Oil Well Servicing.
Our safety programs are intended to provide
our personnel and contractors with the tools they need to perform their work tasks to the highest safety standards. The overall goal of our health and safety program is to implement a culture
that will reduce the frequency and severity of workplace accidents and injuries. We accomplish this by instilling a proactive safety attitude in our employees and contractors – which ultimately allows the control of common workplace hazards.
Our safety commitments are as follows:
-
We will provide and maintain a safe working environment for all involved.
-
We will control work site hazards, thus minimizing the risk to our employees, contractors, and the general public.
-
We will use the combined resources of Alberta Heavy Oil Well Servicing, our clients, government agencies, and other auxiliary services to ensure all safety standards are being met and/or exceeded.
-
We will provide worksite orientation and information while guiding and motivating all personnel directly involved with operations to ensure a safe and successful workplace.
About Us
Alberta Heavy Oil Well Servicing was founded
in 2008. From the beginning, our strategy has always been to establish a service rig company that would be a technological leader in the oil and gas industry. Our main focus to date has been in both cold flow and thermal heavy oil sectors of Alberta. Our rigs are based in Bonnyville, however they work from Lloydminster to Cold Lake and from Athabasca to Wabasca. We are also very well versed and equipped to work in conventional oil and gas environments.
We are currently adding to our proven fleet of technologically advanced service rigs. With an extreme passion for our industry, we will continue to grow at a steady and manageable pace. We will continue to make our clients’ needs, our high environmental standards, and our safety culture our highest priorities.
Our Rigs
Building a new aged fleet of technologically advanced service rigs was not necessarily to fix what was broken, but to improve upon the tried, tested, and true original design and bring it up to today’s standards. Our goal is to develop a fleet of rigs that are more capable, reliable, safer, and more fuel efficient, which enables both ourselves and our clients to lower our carbon footprint.
Alberta Heavy Oil Well Servicing has mobile single service rigs as well as dual purpose slant rigs. The dual purpose slant rigs can be rigged up and rigged out in the same amount of time as our conventional single rigs. In addition our slant rigs have extended derricks up to 72 ft and will make 100% road ban weight restrictions. Whether it is a conventional single service rig or a slant rig, Alberta Heavy Oil Well Servicing has the equipment and people to get the work done safely and efficiently.

It is our philosophy to manage our growth at a strong and steady pace around our most important asset: our people. We’re always looking for the right people to join our team. If you think you have what it takes, contact us directly with your resume and references.
